Carol and Noel's wishes for Gary

Gary, on your 75th birthday

Best wishes from  Burlington, Ontario; where you started out on your career.

From celebrating New Year's Eve in 1960 in Burlington, to celebrating New Year's Eve in 2010 in Calgary, that's a lot of time spanned.

From Burlington to Calgary, from  Scottsdale to Hilton Head and Charleston, South  Carolina, and all through the  Caribbean Islands, that's a lot of ground covered.

We've shared a lot, and it's always the same old Gary; the deep voice and the ironic sense of humour.   Spoiling your kids, while we were tough-loving ours, and still our friendship survived.  Memories of the cowboy from the West running through our neighbourhood in a red Speedo, while your kids and ours laid no claim to knowing who the "flasher" was.

Whether helping you through a crossword, or letting you sandbag me in a Nassau, there's always the underlying sense of humour.

Best wishes go out to you from your oil-starved friends in the East (Do we still have to "suck up" to get the oil?).
